What we collect, and what we don’t.
Poise is run from the Netherlands, so the GDPR applies to everything below. This page is short on purpose. If something here isn’t clear, that’s a fault worth telling us about.

Who’s responsible
Poise is currently run by its founder, based in the Netherlands, as an individual — Poise is not yet registered as a Dutch company. Once it is, the KvK-registered entity will be named here. For anything on this page, write to poisedating@gmail.com. A real person reads it.
What we collect
From the beta signup form on this site, only what you type into it: your first name, your city, and your email address. Nothing else. There is no tracking pixel on this page, no advertising tag, no analytics script, and no cookie set by us.
Two things load from Google Fonts, which means Google receives your IP address when the page renders. We are working on self-hosting the fonts to remove that.
Why we collect it
To contact you about the Netherlands beta: to tell you when a place opens, to ask what did and didn’t work, and to answer you if you write back. Your city tells us where the beta is landing. Your first name is so an email doesn’t open “Dear user”.
The legal basis is your consent, given by ticking the box on the signup form. That box is never pre-ticked, and the form works only if you tick it yourself.
What we will never do
- Sell your data, rent it, or trade it. Not now, not if Poise is acquired.
- Hand it to advertisers, data brokers, or any third party for their own purposes.
- Use it to build a profile of you for marketing.
- Email you about anything other than the beta.
Where a supplier does hold your data on our behalf — an email provider, for instance — they act only on our instructions under a data processing agreement, and never for their own ends.
How long we keep it
Until the Netherlands beta closes, or until you ask us to delete it — whichever comes first. If the beta has not launched within twelve months of your signup, we delete your details and you hear nothing further. If you unsubscribe, we delete your record rather than keep you on a suppression list.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, hand it over in a portable format, or stop using it altogether. You can also withdraw consent at any time, which is as easy as replying to any email from us with the word stop.
Email poisedating@gmail.com and we’ll act within thirty days. There is no form to fill in and we won’t ask you why. If you think we’ve handled your data badly, you can complain to the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, the Dutch data protection authority, at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.
Where your data sits
Inside the European Economic Area. If that ever has to change, we will say so here before it happens, and rely on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
About the app itself
This page covers the signup form on this website only. The Poise app handles considerably more sensitive material — your assessment results, your check-ins, what you write about your dates — and has its own privacy notice, which you’ll be asked to read before you use it.
Changes
If we change this page in a way that affects you, we’ll email everyone on the beta list rather than quietly update the date at the top.
