The Netherlands beta

Date from a settled place.

A self-coaching app for men, built on self-awareness, not pickup lines. Poise helps you see the pattern that's actually running your dating life, before your next date, not after the tenth one that didn't work.

“The problem wasn't my technique. It was patterns I couldn't see. Once I could name them, everything changed.”

Built and live. Testing with a small circle of men in NL. Pre-revenue by design: no price yet, no app-store download, just the real thing.

The moment

A generation of men can't find their footing in dating.

Loneliness is up. Relationship experience is down. And the reflex is to blame the world, not to look inward. That last gap is the opening.

25% of young men (15–34) in the US felt lonely a lot of the previous day — against 18% of young women and 18% nationally. Gallup World Poll, May 2025 (2023–24 data)
56% of Gen Z adults had a romantic relationship as a teenager — down from 78% of baby boomers and 76% of Gen X. Survey Center on American Life, 2023
44% of Gen Z men report no relationship experience at all in their teens — double the rate of older men. Survey Center on American Life, 2023

Neither the manosphere nor a generic wellness app addresses the actual mechanism: the unseen patterns a man carries into every date.

Where Poise sits

Everyone sells men tactics. Poise builds the man.

The manosphere

Lines, routines, status games. Treats symptoms, is often toxic, and tends to leave men more anxious than before, performing a self instead of becoming one.

Generic wellness apps

Meditate, journal, breathe. Genuinely helpful, but it never touches dating specifically, and never speaks to men as men.

Human dating coaches

The one real rival in this quadrant. But $300+/hr, one-to-one, unscalable, and inconsistent.

Poise

Self-awareness, built for men, done healthily.

Poise productizes what a good human coach does: a pattern assessment, a tailored plan, an always-on coach, and a community, at a price and scale a $300/hr coach never could.

Not therapy. Not diagnostic. Not a script.

How it works

A pocket dating coach that starts with you.

Real screens from the live app, not mockups.

01 · Pattern assessment

Meet your saboteurs.

A short self-assessment surfaces the patterns actually running your dating life: the ones a friend would never say out loud. Answer a handful of questions, and Poise names which ones are quietly steering your dating life, and how.

The You screen listing a man's top patterns — The Judge, The Hyper-Achiever, The Stickler, The Victim, The Controller — each scored out of 15, with his dating blueprint below.
02 · Your blueprint, your plan

A 13-week plan, tailored to your patterns.

Your blueprint (Romanticizer, Maximizer, or Hesitater) shapes who you choose and how you wait. The plan moves through three phases: Foundation, Calibration, Integration. Structured, deterministic, and tailored to you, not a generic checklist.

03 · Live coach

An always-on coach that already knows your patterns.

Debrief a date right after it happens, separate what actually occurred from the story you told yourself about it, and get a read that doesn't perform confidence you don't feel yet.

04 · Community Building now — not live yet

The reason to stay, and the whole point.

Most coaching products have a paradox: when it works, you leave. Poise's answer will be a community of men doing the same work: the founding promise, not a retention hack bolted on afterward.

Where we're careful

A coaching tool. Not a replacement for professional help.

Not therapy

Poise is a coaching tool, not therapy, and isn't positioned as a replacement for it. It doesn't diagnose any clinical condition.

Not clinical

The pattern assessment is adapted from the Positive Intelligence “saboteurs” framework (credited), and is explicitly a reflective tool, not a validated clinical instrument.

Your data stays yours

For this test phase, everything stays on your own device. No account, nothing sent to a server, nothing the founder can see. That may change as features like community come online, and any change will be stated plainly, not buried.

In real distress, reach out to a trusted person or a professional; the coach is built to gently steer you there, not to treat it as a dating problem.

Why me

Poise wasn't researched. It was lived.

“I fell into the carer role with a partner carrying real trauma, lost myself in it, and came out the other side depressed. Therapy and a run of dates that didn't work showed me the truth: the problem wasn't my technique. It was patterns I couldn't see. Once I could name them, everything changed. Poise is the tool I wish I'd had.”
